Step 1Collect your semen sample in the Collection Cup and let it sit 30 minutes to liquify. Stir the sample 10 times.
Step 2Add 0.5 mL to the sample well and push the slider all the way forward slowly until you hear a clicking sound to activate. Wait 30 minutes.
Step 3Pull the slider all the way back to see your result. The color in the result window indicates whether your ProMo is above or below the threshold for normal sperm.

Key Accreditations and Certifications:
CE Mark (IVDR): As of May 2022, SwimCount has obtained the new IVDR (In Vitro Diagnostic Regulation) CE Mark, which is the highest standard for diagnostic tests in the European Union. It was previously granted the original CE Certificate for the EU in May 2015 by the British Standards Institution (BSi).
FDA 510(k) Clearance: The device received FDA 510(k) clearance in June 2019, authorizing it for sale and use in the United States.
ISO Certification: The manufacturer, MotilityCount ApS, obtained ISO 13485:2016 and EN ISO 13485:2016 certification on October 18, 2021.

Performance and Validation:
Accuracy: Clinical studies have demonstrated an overall accuracy of 96% compared to laboratory-based semen analysis.
Sensitivity & Specificity: The test has a reported sensitivity of 98% and specificity of 95% (some studies report 96%/91%). This means if the test shows less than 5 million Progressive Motile Sperm Cells (PMSCs) per mL, it is 98% likely to be correct, and 95% likely to be correct if it shows more than 5 million per mL.
WHO Standards: The test is calibrated according to the World Health Organization (WHO) standards for sperm quality.
